Which television channel dominates in the ratings during the coverage of the 2022 elections?

Television remained one of the go-to media outlets to keep Filipinos updated on developments in the 2022 presidential elections on May 9-10, 2022.

Throughout the day of May 9, television stations interrupted their regular programming to make way for election coverage.

On May 10, the 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. programs were preempted to make way for election updates.

Now, what election coverage prevailed in the ratings game?

Based on Nielsen Philippines overnight data for May 9-10, GMA-7’s Eleksyon 2022 posted a net reach of 45.6% of people in the National Urban Television Audience Measurement.

GMA-7’s sister channel, Gtv, came in second, with a net viewership of 20.9%. The Gtv broadcast was a simulcast of the coverage aired on GMA-7.

TV5’s election special “Bilang Pilipino 2022” ranked third in ratings, with a net viewership of 19.5%.

A2Z follows with 11.2% while the cable channel Kapamilya Channel comes in fifth position with 3.4%. Both networks are simulcasting ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2022 coverage.
