Trails Center Announces June Youth Programs

CASPER, Wyo. (Version) – Keep your kids entertained all summer long with fun and educational programs at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. The Trails Center offers free youth programs every Saturday at 10 a.m.

The youth program schedule for this month is as follows:

  • June 11: Life on the Earth Trails – How did the typical pioneer survive the monotony of the trail? Join us as we showcase a slice of life on the Overland Trail.
  • June 18: Battle of Red Buttes (History Club) – Sharpen your historical thinking skills by sequencing historical events on the Great Plains. Trails Center Young Historian and Education Technician Stacey Moore will explain how the Battle of Red Buttes fits into other historical events of the time.
  • June 25: Pioneer Passtimes – Pioneers had to somehow pass the time by hiking the Overland Trails. Join us to learn about some of the fun games pioneer children played.

Hands-on History Club classes are for children ages seven to eleven; however, all ages are welcome. Accompanying persons are required to remain on site for the duration of the program and are invited to participate in the activities.
