SUN TV Network’s GEMINI TV and SURYA TV Announce New Content Slate

Mumbai: SUN TV Network is conducting a content refresh on its Telugu channel GEC GEMINI TV and Malayalam channel GEC SURYA TV from 23 August.

Some of the biggest stars in the regional film industry will host and be a part of these shows, the network said in a press release.


As part of its 26th anniversary celebrations, Gemini TV, SUN TV Network’s Telugu GEC Channel, is set to broadcast ‘Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu’ – the Telugu version of the historic ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’, a show that was broadcast in 120 countries, uplifted and changed the lives of many ordinary people. The show is set to launch on August 23 Monday through Thursday at 8:30 p.m. and a special curtain-raiser will air on August 22 at 8:30 p.m. with Ram Charan as the special star contestant.

The show also has a gambling segment where the audience can participate and win around one lakh every day. Giving an overview of the show, the network said, the host of “Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu” NTR is someone who has the perfect blend of mass and class and is acclaimed as the most versatile tollwood star. by the Telugu.

GEMINI TV is also set to air the popular international culinary reality show “Master Chef India” in Telugu. The show will launch on August 27 every Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. It will be hosted by popular female star Tamanna Bhatia along with three of India’s top chefs, namely Chalapathi Rao, Mahesh Padal and Sanjay Thumma. The show would put 24 home cooks in competition and the winner will receive the coveted Master Chef – India-Telugu trophy and a cash prize worth 25 lakhs to start their journey in regards to their culinary dream.

The two big shows above will complete the non-fiction timeslot from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Apart from this, GEMINI TV will also launch two new drama shows, namely Sundari, Monday-Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Kaviyaanjali, Monday-Saturday at 9:30 p.m. Sundari is the story of an ordinary girl’s extraordinary journey and how she triumphs against thick and thin to achieve her dream. Kaviaanjali is the story of two inseparable girls and the twist that happens to their relationship after marriage when they marry into the same household.


In its effort to bring wholesome entertainment to the Malayali audience SURYA TV, SUN TV Network’s Malayalam GEC channel is also launching a series of fiction and non-fiction shows from August 23rd.

‘Anchinodu Inchodinchu’ – Malayalam version of the hit international show ‘ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADE’. The show was a hit in 65 countries and premiered on Malayalam Television. The show is set to launch on August 23 Monday through Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.

‘Anchinodu Inchodinchu’ host Suresh Gopi is no stranger to Malayali audiences. With his towering personality and majestic baritone, he has been an immensely popular star for decades. He will present the show in his own unique style and is sure to captivate and entertain Kerala audiences, the network said.

A host of celebrities have come as contestants for this show i.e. Kunnchako Boban, Innocent, Aju Varghese, Rimi tomy except others who have called the basis of the call for applications and the process of interview. The show promises to be an entertaining and fun game show and one can win a maximum of one crore of rupees.

The show also features a “Family Play Time” game segment where the audience must download the Sun NXT app, select Malayalam as the language, click on the show poster and participate when the show is on. A cash prize of Rs 30 lakh could be won by the public.

Surya TV will also present another non-fiction show “Aram+Aram=Kinnaram”. The show launches on August 26 every Thursday and Friday at 8:30 p.m. Hosted by popular female star Shweta Menon, the show has popular TV personalities split into two teams and compete against each other. The two teams of popular Malayalam TV stars will perform song, dance and skit routines to compete with each other and be judged as the winner of this entertaining mega reality show. Malayalam Film Star Dileep was a special guest for this show.

The two big shows above will round out the non-fiction timestrip from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Apart from that, SURYA TV will also launch three new drama shows from Monday to Saturday on August 23. Kanyadhanam at 7 p.m., Manasinakkare at 7:30 p.m. and Kaana Kanmani at 8 p.m. Kanyadhanam is the story of a father bound by duty and his five daughters. The uphill struggle of the father who is widowed and how he manages to go above and beyond to keep his daughters safe and happy.

Manasinakkare is the story of two inseparable girls and the twist that happens to their relationship after marriage when they marry into the same household.

Kaana Kanmani is the story of a daughter who longs for her father’s love and affection despite being neglected and seen as a lucky charm.

A 360 degree marketing blitz is being implemented. It consists of innovative billboard tours, audience engagement tours, print, radio, television and digital to reach audiences in all respective state markets.

SUN TV Network has also planned a watch and win competition after the above launches where each week cash, gold and diamonds are planned to be given away as prizes.
