Ruben Castillo to Present Elvis Programs at Three Ocean County Library Branches

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) — Elvis is in the building this summer! Join award-winning Elvis tribute artist and “Elvis-torian” Ruben Castillo for a night of education and song at three Ocean County Library branches: Jackson, Plumsted and Toms River – each branch offers a program different on Elvis.

Ruben Castillo is a musical theater actor and voice-over artist for video games, celebrity impersonations and interactive children’s storybooks. In addition to hosting and producing various Elvis competitions and productions, Castillo has been entertaining Boogie Nights fans at the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City since 2018 as “Elvis Estrada” host.

“The King of Rock n’ Roll: 1956 – 1959” transports audiences to a time when Elvis was taking the world by storm, appearing on television and in early films such as To love you, Jailhouse Rockand creole king. He will present it at the Jackson Branch (2 Jackson Drive) on Wednesday, July 27 at 7:00 p.m.

“The Age of Change: 1968 – 1969”, journey from Memphis to Vietnam through the Summer of Love in a musical journey with The King, featuring music from his 1968 Comeback Special, From Elvis to Memphisand his return to Las Vegas in 1969. He will present it at the Plumsted Branch (119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt) on Monday, August 1 at 7:00 p.m.

“The King – Aloha and Beyond: 1973 – 1977”, pays homage to the King’s final years, including highlights from the Aloha from Hawaii concert, The Jungle Room Sessions, and the last Elvis show that aired on CBS. He will present it at the Toms River Branch (101 Washington Street) on Wednesday, August 3 at 6:30 p.m.
