Hopefully this will be a good example.
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The quality and appeal of broadcast programs suitable for children in Indonesia are improving thanks to an increase in their advertising revenue, said the Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), Mulyo Hadi Purnomo.
At a press conference on the 2022 Child-Friendly Broadcasting Awards (APRA) here on Saturday, he informed that the number of TV channels broadcasting child-friendly programs has also increased.
Ten of the 18 TV channels monitored by KPI broadcast various children’s and family programs, including the 102 programs vying for APRA 2022, he added.
The KPI is proud of the growing number of programs as audiences have often complained about the lack of children’s and family programs made by TV stations, he said.
Additionally, family programs can become a means of educating the community about welcoming their children, he added.
Therefore, the commission has also included family programs as a new award category for the APRA 2022.

In addition, radio programs on children’s fairy tales also emerged as a new category during the awards. Thus, a total of 54 children’s programs from 54 radio stations are competing in the categories of children’s radio programs and children’s fairy tale broadcasting at APRA 2022.
“We noted that the (direct) interaction between parents and children has decreased a lot – and in the past, (listening to) fairy tales (read by parents) were highly anticipated (by children),” Purnomo said. .
Therefore, KPI is trying to make fairy tales popular with children again through radio.
“I hope it will be a good example,” he added.
Earlier, he said that APRA 2022 has 13 categories, including Indonesian Animation, Children’s Educational Programs, Foreign Animation, Variety/Reality Shows, Feature Films/Documentaries, Indonesian Family Programs, fairy tale radio and children’s radio programs.
Also, there are special awards for broadcasters who have consistently produced child-friendly programs, such as the 2022 APRA Best Television, 2022 Child-Friendly Television, 2022 Child Caring Radio, and 2022 Indonesian Child Education Caring Television Awards.
